About Elite Academy
Shaped by the ward,
not the textbook.
Elite Academy is a Malta-based healthcare education provider built by practising clinicians. We train nurses, carers and healthcare assistants for the realities of modern care — with accredited programmes, supervised clinical practice and faculty who are still on the floor.

Founded by Clinicians
Built by nurses who still work in Maltese care.
MFHEA Accredited
Qualifications recognised across Malta and the EU.
Small Cohorts
Close supervision, not lecture-hall anonymity.
Based in Malta
Built for the Maltese healthcare system.

Who We Are
Founded to close the gap between training and practice.
Elite Academy was founded by senior nursing professionals who spent years teaching in Malta’s leading institutions while continuing to work in hospital and long-term care settings. That double perspective revealed a persistent gap: graduates who could pass the assessment, but who arrived on the ward unprepared for the pace, the pressure and the ethical weight of real clinical work.
Every programme we run is designed backwards from that reality. Evidence-based theory is paired with supervised placements in live clinical environments, small cohorts, and assessment that reflects how care is actually delivered in Maltese hospitals, care homes and community services.
Our qualifications are accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) and aligned to the national qualifications framework, so they are recognised across Malta and the European Union.
Mission & Vision
What we are here to do.
The commitment behind every programme, and the healthcare workforce we are working towards.
Our mission
To deliver accredited healthcare education that is clinically honest — teaching students what the job actually demands, supporting them through supervised practice, and sending them onto the floor genuinely ready to care for people.
Our vision
A Maltese healthcare workforce where every nurse and carer has been trained by people who understand the system they are entering — and where continuing education is a normal, accessible part of a clinical career.

Meet the Founder
Yanica Sciberras
Founder & Director — Registered Nurse · Charge Nurse, Healthmark SVPR · Lecturer
Yanica is a registered nurse whose career has been split between the ward and the classroom. Her clinical work spans acute hospital settings and long-term care, and she currently serves as Charge Nurse at Healthmark SVPR, where she runs a multidisciplinary team — keeping communication clear under pressure and holding the team to the ethical standards clinical practice demands.
Alongside that work she lectures at MCAST, IDEA Academy and Learning Works College, teaching work-based practice, gerontology, ethical decision-making, infection control, clinical simulation, fundamental nursing procedures and Level 6 healthcare management.
She holds a Degree in Nursing Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Management and Leadership, and a Master’s in Leadership and Management in Healthcare, and is currently researching conflict resolution within multidisciplinary teams. Elite Academy grew out of a simple conviction: that healthcare education in Malta should be delivered by people still accountable to the system their graduates are about to enter.

Our Values
Integrity, professionalism, compassion.
Three commitments that govern how we teach, assess and support every student who trains with us.
Integrity
Honest assessment and honest teaching. We tell students what the work really involves, and we hold our programmes to the same ethical standard we expect at the bedside.
Professionalism
Accredited curricula, structured supervision and clear standards of conduct — because the credibility of a qualification is what protects patients.
Compassion
Small cohorts and a supportive teaching style. Students are treated the way we want them to treat patients — with patience, respect and attention.
